Coastal Training College offers essential water safety and first aid courses designed specifically for surf instructors. Our training ensures you’re confident, compliant, and prepared to handle emergencies on the water.

With flexible online learning and quick in-person assessments, we make it easy to complete your annual renewals, including First Aid, CPR, and Perform Water Rescues. Training sessions are available at convenient locations like the Talle Recreation Centre and Mermaid Beach Community Centre. Or, let us organise training for your team and we will come to you!

Did you know that each field of employment in the aquatic industry has a different set of qualifications required. From surf instructors, pool lifeguards (private and council owned), water parks and ocean lifeguards, contact us to discuss which course is suitable for your needs. Coastal Training College delivers all our classes online so you can complete your theory at a time that’s convenient to you, no need for pens or paper! In-person assessments are fast and fun with experienced local Gold Coast trainers.

Water Safety Courses available

  • HLTAID009: Provide CPR - $70 per person

  • HLTAID011: Provide First Aid - $120 person

  • HLTAID015: Advanced resuscitation + oxygen therapy (Express) - $150 per person

  • Pool Lifeguard Annual Refresher (existing Lifeguards) -
    $185 per person

  • Pool Lifeguard Course (new students, 2 day course) -
    $385 per person

  • SISCAQU020 - Perform Water Rescues - $185 per person

  • Ocean Safety Course - from $185 per person
