Ocean Safety Qualification

Course Information

This practical, ocean-based course meets the safety requirements for Surfing Australia and A.S.I. surf instructor registration.

You will complete the nationally recognised units:

• PUASAR012 – Apply surf awareness and self-rescue skills

• PUASAR013 – Participate in an aquatic rescue operation

The session is built around real surf conditions. Students must be physically capable of completing a run–swim–run, plus board and tube rescues in the ocean.

Optional Add-Ons (Same Day at Mermaid Beach):

If you also require accredited first aid units, you can add them during checkout:

• Provide CPR (HLTAID009) — $60

• Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) — $120

Select the relevant option when paying and the course invite will be sent. Online learning must be completed for CPR and First Aid before attending.
